ALGIERS, March 24 – President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe arrives here Tuesday for a three-day State visit to Algeria at the invitation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the presidency said in a statement Monday.

The visit of President Mugabe “is an opportunity for both parties to identify ways and means to intensify and boost co-operation and exchanges in all fields between the two countries which are united by exemplary relations of brotherhood and solidarity since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980”, the statement added.

Talks between President Mugabe, who is the current chair of the African Union (AU), and President Bouteflika will allow both parties to “address a number of international issues of common interest, including those related to peace, security, co-operation and integration in Africa”, the statement said.
