El Ghriba attack: hotel bookings in Djerba expected to continue (hotel trade federation)

Tourists in Djerba are continuing theirt stay in hotels, President of the Djerba-Zarzis Hotel Trade Federation Jalel Henchiri said on Wednesday. Bookings are expected to continue. He stressed the need not to distort facts and focus on police responsiveness. Tourism professionals will continue their preparations for the summer season without being discouraged by this attack. Similar attacks occur on a daily basis across the world. Governor of Médenine Saied Ben Zayed commended the responsiveness shown by police and the military, warding off more losses. A shooting took place near el Ghriba synagogue, Djerba, on Tuesday evening. The death toll rose to five- two pilgrims and three police officers, in addition to the shooter gunned down by police units. Four law enforcement officers and as many civilians sustained injuries.

Minister of Cultural Affairs hands letter from President Saied to Ruler of Sharjah

Minister of Cultural Affairs Hayat Guermazi Monday paid a visit, on President Kais Saied's instructions, to Sharjah, the UAE. She handed a letter to Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in which the President of the Republic extended an invitation to visit Tunisia, the ministry said in a press release . The meeting focused on ways to scale up cooperation in culture, creativity, arts and heritage and exchange expertise.
