Krachi East Residents Reeling from Surge in Fraudulent Breach of Trust Cases

Krachi east: Residents of the Krachi East are reeling over the surge in fraudulent cases of breach of trust, with 103 incidents reported within the year.

According to Ghana News Agency, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr. Abdul-Razak Alhassan, the Dambai Divisional Crime Officer, revealed a significant increase in such cases over the past nine months, leaving many residents feeling vulnerable and betrayed by individuals they trusted. These incidents have taken advantage of the residents’ good faith.

ASP Alhassan highlighted these issues during an accountability through community engagement event. He stated that the cases ranged from embezzlement to deceitful schemes, causing financial and emotional devastation to victims. In response, the police have advised residents to exercise caution and vigilance, especially when dealing with individuals who promise unusually high returns.

The police are actively working to crack down on these crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice. The event was part of the government’s efforts to enhance development and good governance, bringing together traditional leaders, departmental heads, and other stakeholders to discuss key issues affecting the Municipality.

The forum was vibrant, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the area. Traditional leaders, adorned in regal attire, sat alongside government officials and departmental heads, creating a unique blend of tradition and modernity.
