Accra: African Leadership Magazine (ALM) (www.AfricanLeadershipMagazine.Co.UK) has proudly announced the winners of its African Persons of the Year (POTY) 2025 Awards, following an extensive three-stage selection process. This process included public nominations across the continent, a thorough editorial review, and a competitive global online voting system that concluded on 30 November 2025. The awards have successfully engaged Africans globally, highlighting a strong public interest in recognizing leadership excellence across various sectors such as governance, business, philanthropy, innovation, and public service.
According to African Press Organization, the ALM Persons of the Year Awards is regarded as Africa’s leading public-choice recognition event, celebrating leaders whose vision, courage, and innovative actions in 2025 have significantly shaped the continent’s developmental path. Among the notable honorees are H.E. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of Namibia, and H.E. Mandisa Maya, Chief Justice of South Africa, who have been named African Political Leader of the Year and African Female Leader of the Year, respectively. These 2025 winners represent a pan-African community of pioneers whose work crosses sectors and geographies, yet remains unified by a shared commitment to promoting sustainable development, reinforcing institutional resilience, and fostering inclusive economic growth across Africa.
Dr. Ken Giami, Publisher of African Leadership Magazine, emphasized the importance of celebrating African stories and leadership. He stated that “This year’s awardees exemplify leadership that strengthens institutions, drives innovation, safeguards peace, and unlocks opportunity – showing what is possible when Africans lead with vision, courage, and purpose.”
The award ceremony for the winners and runners-up will take place during the annual African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year awards event, set for 27-28 February 2026 in Accra, Ghana. The event will feature the POTY awards presentation, high-level plenaries, business investment showcases, discussions on state and country investment opportunities, roundtable discussions, and multi-networking sessions. Additionally, the African Leadership Magazine’s special POTY edition will be unveiled.
