Kyiremfaso: Care for Society Network International (CfSNI), a non-governmental organisation, has inaugurated the ‘Yen Anidaso’ Club of Readers (YACoR) at Kyiremfaso M.A Junior High School in the Asante-Mampong municipality to improve education outcomes in the area. The initiative aims to foster a reading culture among students, contributing to enhanced academic performance.
According to Ghana News Agency, CfSNI donated 200 assorted reading materials, 400 exercise books, and pens to the school, while also pledging to renovate the school’s deteriorating infrastructure. Mrs. Anita Ampofoa Amoako-Gyimah, the Executive Director of CfSNI, described the inauguration as an empowerment initiative for children, particularly girls, to learn and lead community development and transformation.
Mrs. Amoako-Gyimah highlighted the critical connection between parental involvement in education and student success. She encouraged parents to engage actively in their children’s education by providing necessary support and resources.
Nana Akwasi Kuoko Kodua, the Chief of Kyiremfaso, expressed gratitude to Dr. Daniel Agyemfour-Agyemang for his support, which made the gesture possible. Dr. Agyemang, an alumnus of the school, was commended for his commitment to giving back to his community, inspiring others to follow suit.
The Chief pledged the community’s full support for the project and reminded parents of their responsibility in raising disciplined and literate children. Mr. Yusif Yakubu, the Asante-Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, praised CfSNI’s efforts and commended the local leaders for their interest in improving educational outcomes.
CfSNI is dedicated to creating hope and building futures through education, girl-child mentorship, healthcare, and literacy initiatives. Mr. Yakubu urged parents to ensure their children complete their homework and study after school, expressing hope that the intervention would enhance students’ reading habits and educational standards in the area.
