The Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) late on Friday evening passed the 2024 budget of the Health Ministry, with 100 votes for, 24 against and 8 abstentions.
The ministry's budget was set at nearly TND 3.93 billion for 2024, compared with TND 3.66 billion in the supplementary 2023 finance law.
The budget allocated to the health ministry is considered to be the largest, after those of the education, industry, interior and defence ministries, accounting for 5.5% of the State 2024 draft general budget.
The budget provides for capital expenditure of TND 582.2 million on projects and programmes, divided between projects in progress (TND 416.6 million) and new projects (TND 165.6 million).
