Banda-ahenkro: Mrs Gifty Mensah Ibrahim, a philanthropist, has made a significant contribution to the Banda-Ahenkro Health Centre in the Bono Region by donating essential items and drugs. The donated items include 12 mattresses, quantities of bed sheets and curtains, as well as boxes of paracetamol syrup and vitamins.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs Ibrahim, who is the wife of Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, emphasized the importance of maintaining the donated items during a ceremony at Banda-Ahenkro, the capital of the Banda District. She shared that her previous visit to the facility revealed a shortage of basic supplies, which spurred her to seek support to address the issue.

Mrs Ibrahim expressed her commitment to further equipping the health centre with modern medical devices, aiming to improve the quality of healthcare services in the area. Her efforts are intended to enhance the overall health status of the local population.

Mr Jonathan Owusu, a Senior Physician Assistant at the Banda-Ahenkro Health Centre, expressed gratitude for the donation, acknowledging the positive impact it will have on service delivery. He highlighted that patients admitted to the centre often experienced discomfort due to the poor condition of existing mattresses, and the lack of curtains in many wards compromised patient privacy during medical procedures.
