Volta Regional Minister Celebrates Birthday by Donating to Children’s Ward

Accra: The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, marked his birthday on Sunday, September 21, which coincided with Founders’ Day, by making a generous donation to the Children’s Ward of the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH).

According to Ghana News Agency, the donation included 50 packs of bottled water, 30 packs of assorted soft drinks, toiletries, and a cash amount of GHS5,000. Demonstrating further commitment, Mr. Gunu also pledged to cover 50 percent of the treatment costs for four children battling cancer at the hospital.

In addition to supporting the young patients, the Minister presented GHS2,000 to nurses in the ward, acknowledging their sacrifices and dedication to child healthcare. Mr. Gunu stated that his initiative aimed to extend love to the children and their families while recognizing the tireless efforts of healthcare professionals.

The Chief Executive Officer of HTH, Dr. Hintermann K.K. Mbroh, received the items and expressed appreciation for the Minister’s support. Dr. Mbroh described the gesture as a source of encouragement to patients, families, and caregivers, highlighting its significance in standing in solidarity with the young patients and the healthcare workers serving them.
