Accra: The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, recently welcomed Her Excellency Laura Ranalli, the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, and her delegation at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to explore potential areas of cooperation.
According to Ghana News Agency, the discussions focused on partnerships in agriculture, digital skills development, and tourism. These sectors were identified by the Minister as vital for unlocking the economic potential of the region. Mr. Gunu emphasized the strategic development priorities of the Volta Region under President John Dramani Mahama’s vision, assuring the Ambassador of the region’s readiness to embrace investments that could stimulate growth, enhance sister-city relations, and promote cultural and social exchanges between Italy and the Volta Region.
The Italian delegation emphasized Italy’s technical expertise and highlighted investment opportunities in youth empowerment, job creation, and sustainable development. They also showed interest in exploring collaborations that align with the government’s 24-hour economy agenda and its potential advantages for the Volta Region.
Mr. Gunu regarded the visit as a significant step in advancing international cooperation and expressed optimism that the collaboration would create new opportunities for youth, businesses, and communities throughout the region.
