GNA General Manager mourns with Sunyaniman

Mr Albert Kofi Owusu, the General Manager of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), was among the mourners at the funeral rites of Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, the late paramount chief of Sunyani. Mr Owusu, a member of the Boahen Korkor royal family, attended the seven-day solemn funeral rites to honour the esteemed late 'Sunyanimanhene'.?? His presence at the funeral was a demonstration of his deep respect for the late Sunyani paramount chief. The late Sunyanimanhene's seven days funeral activities, which started on Monday 1st April 2024, witnessed fetish priests displaying their spiritual power and authority at the Sunyani Victoria Park. Other subsequent funeral rites held at the Nana Bosoma II Royal Palace were attended by prominent political figures and flag bearers, including Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party, Mr John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen of the Movement for Change, and Nana Kwame Bediako of the New Force.? Their presence undersco red the respect and honor they held for Nana Nkrawiri II. Paramount Queen Mother Nana Akosua Dua Asor Sika Brayie II, alongside sub-chiefs, graciously welcomed mourners and delegations from both near and far, ensuring a dignified and solemn ceremony.? In attendance to pay their final respects to the late 'Sunyanimanhene' were Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Dormaahene and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, and various traditional leaders.? Their presence added a sense of reverence and tradition to the proceedings, honouring the legacy of the departed leader. Police Commander urges society to assist in fight against crime

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Richard Atobrah, Adaklu District Police Commander, has asked the public to assist the Police to fight crime. He said the Police could not make any headway in the fight against crime without the cooperation of society. ASP Atobrah said this when he addressed members of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana Edem Congregation at Adaklu Kodzobi as part of his tour of some churches in the Adaklu district to strike collaboration. He reminded them that security was a shared responsibility, adding 'you are our partners in fighting crime.' ASP Atobrah advised the congregation to be security conscious at all times even in the chapels. He stated that they should always report suspicious faces to the Police, adding 'do not take the law into your own hands.' ASP Atobrah urged the public to reach out to the Police on toll free lines 191, 112 and 18555 if they need to provide information or seek assistance. Run away from toxic relationships – Reverend Ayer?

The Reverend Ebenezer Ayer, Head Pastor of the Priesthood Worship Centre (PWC), Assemblies of God, Tema Community Six, has urged the youth to go into relationships that would promote their well-being.? Rev. Ayer told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that relationships that made one feel unsafe or physically and emotionally abused are highly unacceptable, adding that red flags in relationships must not be downplayed. He said red flags were warning signs of a behaviour that is unhealthy and served as a warning that something in the relationship is not right.? He mentioned that although red flags in relationships were subjective, some general ones must not be tolerated. Rev. Ayer said that when such a relationship reaches an unhealthy stage, the best thing to do is to opt out of it and distance oneself from it, stressing that people must set boundaries and create relationships where they will be treated with respect. He urged Ghanaians to take relationship red flags seriously and not make excuses for their partner's poor behaviour, stressing that nobody can fix a toxic relationship or change the attitude of his or her partner except God. He said marriage was good, and both partners needed to focus on developing themselves and being financially sound to make their marital journey fruitful. Rev. Prioritise the development of Adaklu Waya – Assemblyman

Mr. Eugene Akpatsa, Assemblyman for Adaklu Waya Electoral Area in the Adaklu district, has appealed to the government and the Adaklu District Assembly to prioritize the development of Adaklu Waya. He noted that the town's roads needed urgent attention as the capital of the district. Mr. Akpatsa, who made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Adaklu Waya, said a modern market should also be built for the town in addition to the existing animal market. He stated that the market would help serve the needs of the people and open the community to other districts in the region and beyond. He said it would also help improve the revenue generation of the Assembly. Mr. Akpatsa disclosed that he was liaising with some non-governmental organizations to support farmers in the area with modern agricultural practices. He bemoaned the absence of a toilet facility for the town and said he was working hard to lobby the Assembly to build one near the market. The Assemblyman entreated the youth of the co mmunity to shy away from drugs as it would jeopardize their future. He noted that many youths were unemployed, which he said did not augur well for the area, adding 'the devil finds work for the ideal hand.' One person arrested over robbery on Juaso-Nkawkaw Highway

The Police have arrested one person in connection with a robbery incident on the Juaso-Nkawkaw highway. A news brief from the Police said three other suspects were being pursued. It said Police patrol teams on the Highway responded to the robbery incident at about 0100hrs on Sunday, April 7, 2024 and arrested one person. No one was injured. 'There is currently an intelligence-led Police operation to get the others arrested and we shall surely get them,' the Police said. Source: Ghana News Agency
