Sefwi Wiawso: Mr. Micheal Aidoo, a 66-year-old entrepreneur, has been elected as the Western North Regional Representative to the Council of State. Mr. Aidoo, who is also the Western North Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), secured all 18 votes cast, defeating Mr. Nelson Ackah, a 46-year-old President of the Ghana National Association of Assembly members, who received no votes.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Aidoo, after being declared the winner, expressed his commitment to providing counsel to the President on national matters. He emphasized his approach as being open-minded and pledged to act in the nation's best interest.

Mr. Aidoo also assured that he would focus on building strong relations with the President to facilitate the development needs of the Western North region. Col Retired Anthony Aduhene, another contestant, withdrew from the race, stating his inability to meet the delegates prior to the election.
