Harare: It is with deep sadness that we confirm the sudden and unexpected passing of H.E. Ms Katrin Hagemann, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Zimbabwe, on 3 September 2026. Her passing has led to an outpouring of condolences from various quarters.

According to European Union, heartfelt condolences are extended to her family, loved ones, colleagues, and all those who mourn this profound loss. The statement emphasizes respect for the privacy of the family during this difficult time, and thus, no further comments will be made at this juncture.

The Book of Condolences will be open to the public from Monday, 7 September to Thursday, 10 September 2026. It will be available daily from 10:00 to 16:00 at the EU Delegation to Zimbabwe, allowing people to pay their respects and express their condolences. May she rest in peace.
