Sekesua: The Upper Manya Krobo District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has embarked on a video show for community members at Sekesua. The initiative aims to promote peaceful elections and raise awareness about the consequences of election-related violence. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Eric K. Yanney, the District Director, stated that the NCCE selected Sekesua due to the entire district being identified as a potential hotspot for election violence. The event featured a screening of 'Cry Free Town,' a video highlighting election violence in Sierra Leone, and 'Heal The Nation,' which focused on similar issues in Kenya. Mr. Yanney urged the community to reject violence and embrace unity and harmony. He expressed gratitude to the residents of Sekesua for their turnout and encouraged them to absorb the video's message, emphasizing the importance of choosing peace over violence in the upcoming elections on December 7. Mr. Djornobuah John Tetteh, Assembly Member for the Dzamam- Trawa Electoral Areas and Chairperson of the Sekesua Area Council, also addressed the gathering. He advised against being swayed by politicians into violence and praised the NCCE for their efforts, suggesting such screenings be replicated in all thirty-three areas of the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency. The program was attended by representatives from the NCCE Head Office, including Mrs. Irene Minston-Amihere, and Messrs Frederick Akuamoah and Benjamin Asante, who facilitated the movie show.
