Agotime-Kpetoe: The youth of Agotime-Kpetoe have expressed their expectations for a District Chief Executive (DCE) who will prioritize their welfare and focus on creating job opportunities to address the pressing needs of the district's younger generation.
According to Ghana News Agency, Ms. Vicentia Sename Leyo is considered by the youth as the ideal candidate for the role of DCE. They believe that her leadership qualities and understanding of youth challenges make her uniquely suited to partner with the Member of Parliament to advance a youth-centered agenda in the district.
Mr. Regan Adzri Bennet, a youth leader, emphasized Ms. Leyo's dedication to the youth, stating, "Madam Leyo is the only person who takes the needs of the youth seriously and works tirelessly to address them." Other youth members echoed similar sentiments, highlighting her commitment to their well-being and her ability to make them feel valued, both in and out of the district.
Several individuals, preferring anonymity, praised Ms. Leyo for her ability to unite and empower the youth of Agotime-Ziope. They remarked on her potential to transform the district's future with her leadership. Some women in the district also expressed strong support for Ms. Leyo, describing her as a trailblazer, especially in gender equality matters. They emphasized the need for equitable distribution of political power within districts and advocated for Ms. Leyo's appointment as DCE for geographical and gender balance.
Ms. Leyo reaffirmed her commitment to addressing longstanding district challenges, with water and sanitation as her top priorities. She pledged to resolve the water crisis and focus on youth and women's empowerment, aiming to foster development and create opportunities for these groups.
As one of eight candidates vying for the position of DCE in Agotime-Ziope, Ms. Leyo has garnered widespread support. A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), she has a professional background in banking and holds multiple academic qualifications. The youth of Agotime-Kpetoe remain hopeful that her leadership will bring significant progress to the district, especially in addressing unemployment and fostering unity among the youth.
