NDC Youth Organizer Appeals to President for Ministerial Appointment of Lower Manya Krobo MP

Accra: Mr. Godwin Oblandah A. D. Totroku, Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress for the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, has appealed for their Member of Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, to be considered for a ministerial appointment. Mr. Totroku, who also serves as an Assemblymember for the Odumase South electoral area, commended President John Dramani Mahama on his current ministerial and Chief Executive Officer appointments, while highlighting the qualifications of Mr. Terlabi for a ministerial role.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Totroku praised President Mahama for appointing Ms. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey as the Eastern Regional Minister, acknowledging her as a representative from the Krobo area. He took the opportunity to remind the President of Mr. Terlabi's pending appointment, emphasizing his distinguished service as the Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency.

Mr. Totroku highlighted Mr. Terlabi's performance in the December 2024 elections, where he won 29,043 votes against the NPP candidate's 14,653, showcasing a significant lead. He noted that this achievement was unprecedented in the history of the Eastern Region, underscoring Mr. Terlabi's dedication to his constituents and the nation.

Currently serving his fourth term, Mr. Terlabi has held various significant positions, including Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources. He is also the head of the Eastern Regional Parliamentary Caucus and a ranking member of the Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation Committee in Parliament.

Mr. Totroku expressed confidence in Mr. Terlabi's potential contributions to the government, stating, "His commitment to public service and his constituents makes him an excellent candidate for your administration." He respectfully requested the President to expedite Mr. Terlabi's appointment, which he believes would recognize his contributions and strengthen governance.
