Sunyani: Mr. Kwasi Asante Boateng, the Sunyani West Municipal Chief Executive, has announced that the Assembly is in the final stages of planning for the construction of a standard market intended to support the implementation of a 24-hour economy. He noted that the Assembly has successfully engaged with traditional authorities and key stakeholders, resulting in the acquisition of land for the market’s construction, which is set to begin soon at Chiraa in the Municipality.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Boateng emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment that encourages economic growth and development. This initiative is also aimed at creating job opportunities for the youth in the area. He explained that Chiraa was chosen as the site for the market due to its unique position among the five major towns in the municipality, which include Odomase, Nsoatre, and Fiapre, each hosting different significant institutions or services.

Mr. Boateng described the 24-hour economy as a significant economic strategy and stressed the importance of collective support for the market’s establishment to boost the local economy and generate employment. Additionally, he highlighted that the new market would contribute to increasing the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund, which would further aid in the development efforts across the municipality.
