Accra: Mrs Eunice Osae, the Chief Director, Office of the Head of Civil Service, has been adjudged the Chief Director of the Year at the climax of the Civil Service Week Celebration.
According to Ghana News Agency, based on the Chief Director Performance Contract, Mrs Osae was recognized for her dedicated service, selfless leadership, and continuous contribution to the progress of the Civil Service. Other awardees included Mr. Stephen Yaw Osei, Chief Director, Ministry of Works and Housing, who was the first runner-up, and Mrs Eva Mends, Chief Director at the Ministry of Finance, as the second runner-up.
The awards and dinner event, held in Accra, concluded the weeklong celebration from July 16 – 25, 2025. It was themed ‘Adapting to Automation, Artificial Intelligence and E-Governance: The Civil Service in Contemporary Ghana,’ aimed at integrating automation into the activities of civil servants.
In her congratulatory message, Mrs. Osae expressed gratitude to her colleagues at the Office of the Head of Civil Service for their support in winning the award and making her work much easier. ‘To my colleagues in management, thank you for your trust and shared vision. We have weathered many storms and worked hard to push boundaries and improve systems together. To all the staff at the Office of the Head of Civil Service, this is for you,’ she said.
Mrs Osae stated that the award held significant importance as she brought her journey in the Civil Service to an end. Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, Head of Civil Service, congratulated the award recipients, highlighting the performance, leadership, and dedication exhibited by each recipient, ensuring a commitment to excellence in their respective roles.
He emphasized that the annual award ceremony presented a valuable opportunity to reflect on the year and review achievements and progress made across the Civil Service. ‘The capacity of the state is largely dependent on the capacity of its public bureaucracy, underscoring the vital role of civil servants in supporting the government’s policies to promote social, economic, and political prosperity,’ he added.
