Accra: The 16th edition of Miss Tourism Ghana has been held in Accra to celebrate cultural diversity, national unity, and youth empowerment. Held under the theme, ‘Tourism, the Heart of Ghana – Women Shaping a Sustainable Ghana and Bridging the Divide: A United Future for all Africans,’ the event convened stakeholders in tourism, culture, and youth development for an evening of pageantry and purpose.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Delphine Brew-Hammond, Director of Events and Operations for Miss Tourism Ghana, highlighted the competition’s renewed focus on nurturing the potential of young women nationwide. She noted that this year’s edition, supported by Sharon Ghana, aimed to empower women to lead Ghana and Africa toward a sustainable future.
Madam Brew-Hammond explained that contestants in the 2025 edition do not solely represent their regions. ‘In this edition, none of the contestants represent only their individual regions. They are all proudly raising the flag of Ghana, bearing in mind the pageant’s emphasis on national unity over regional identity,’ she stated.
Madam Brew-Hammond further emphasized that Miss Tourism Ghana continued to serve as a beacon for cultural promotion, national pride, and youth development, leveraging tourism as a tool for social change and empowerment. She announced the upcoming ‘Regional Costume’ showcase, designed to celebrate the unique cultural heritage of each participant, as an opportunity for families, friends, and communities to come together in pride and celebration of Ghana’s traditions.
Expressing optimism about the contestants’ future, Madam Brew-Hammond stated her belief that the platform was cultivating women capable of representing Ghana on the global stage. She called for broader collaboration from corporate institutions, civil society organisations, and government stakeholders to sustain the initiative’s growth and impact.
