NCCE Empowers Women in Krachi East to Fight for Justice, Integrity

Krachi east: The Krachi East Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organised a civic education programme to empower women groups in the municipality with knowledge on their constitutional rights, civic responsibilities, and roles in promoting accountability and integrity.

According to Ghana News Agency, the event brought together representatives of women associations, including those from the market, to provide them with a platform to learn and share their experiences. Key facilitators included Chief Inspector Mr. Charles Adom of the Dambai Divisional Command and Assistant Division Officer 1 (ADO1) Mr. Samuel Annan from the Ghana National Fire Service.

The programme’s objective was to deepen public understanding of the constitution and promote civic responsibility. Nana Robert Kwasi Boame, the Oti Regional Director of the NCCE, stated that empowering women as vital partners was important in ensuring the promotion of justice, equality, and integrity.

The facilitators discussed topics such as the Rule of Law, Women’s Rights, Civic Responsibilities, and Forms of Corruption. Participants were encouraged to become advocates for transparency and report on corrupt practices.

The programme concluded with participants expressing appreciation for the insightful engagement, stating that it had enhanced their understanding of civic rights, responsibilities, and available legal protections. The NCCE reaffirmed its commitment to continuous civic education and community engagement.
