Accra: President John Dramani Mahama on Monday met with key judicial and governmental figures, including Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Acting Chief Justice; Dr. Dominic Akurutinga Ayine, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice; and Mr. Johnson Akumoah Asiedu, Auditor-General, to discuss strategies for reinforcing the enforcement of the Auditor-General’s Report findings.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement by Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Presidential Spokesman and Minister of State in-charge of Government Communications, highlighted that the meeting concluded with a decision to designate special courts to address cases stemming from audit infractions noted in the Auditor-General’s Report. This includes enforcing surcharges and disallowances, as well as prosecuting related criminal offenses.

The statement further noted that this initiative is part of the government’s comprehensive effort to enhance accountability, deter the misuse of public funds, and ensure the swift recovery of monies owed to the state.
