Afadzato South MP Expands Water Access for Constituents.

Afadjato South: Madam Angela Alorwu-Tay, Member of Parliament for Afadzato South Constituency, has commissioned a water project for the Nyagbo Sroe community to expand access to good drinking water. The final phase of the project included the provision of additional polytanks to ensure a continuous supply of water. According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Alorwu-Tay, during the commissioning at Nyagbo Sroe, emphasized the importance of providing social amenities to meet the constituents' needs by utilizing government resources to alleviate their challenges. She highlighted that the water project aims to reduce the difficulties faced by the residents in accessing water, particularly the strain experienced by women and children. She disclosed that the project, which cost GHS486,000 and was funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), would be managed by a committee to ensure its sustainability. Additionally, Madam Alorwu-Tay announced her commitment to personally finance another project, amounting to GHS300,000, to extend water supply to Nyagbo Fiafe, located 2,300 kilometers from Nyagbo Sroe. In addition to the water project, the MP also commissioned a 10-seater water closet with a polytank and a mechanized water system for the boys' dormitory of the Ve Senior High School, also under the DACF. She noted that these projects, particularly the toilet and water facilities, would enhance sanitation and ensure women's safety in terms of hygiene. Madam Alorwu-Tay urged the communities to take ownership of the projects and maintain them to benefit future generations. She also encouraged constituents to support Mr. John Dramani Mahama and Mr. Frank Afriyie as the next President and Member of Parliament for Afadzato South, respectively. Ekusi Dr Owusu IX, Chief of Nyagbo Sroe, expressed gratitude for the MP's unwavering commitment to the community's welfare and development. He remarked that the water project would improve sanitation, hygiene, and the overall quality of life for the community members. Mr. Th eophilus Kwadzo Doh, Assemblyman for Nyagbo Sroe Electoral Area, thanked the MP, Afadzato South DCE, Assembly members, and the Nyagbo Sroe community for their support, stating that the community would maintain the project through communal labor. Togbe Klo V, Sub-Divisional Chief of Dzigbe-Klo Clan of Ve Koloenu, acknowledged the long-standing challenges faced by the community and expressed appreciation for the MP's contributions. He affirmed the community's reliance on the outgoing MP for continued assistance. Madam Alorwu-Tay also presented a pack of toilet rolls to the Ve Koloenu community.
