Banda-ahenkro: The Banda District Assembly in the Bono Region has announced the death of Police Superintendent Kofi Oduro Amponsah, the Banda District Police Commander.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Peter Dongi, the Banda District Chief Executive, stated that Supt Amponsah, aged 56, died after a short illness. Mr. Dongi referred to him as a kind and hardworking individual.

The announcement was made during the First Ordinary General Meeting of the Ninth Assembly held at Banda-Ahenkro, the district capital. Mr. Dongi highlighted Supt Amponsah’s significant role in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the 2024 Election in the area. He remarked that Supt Amponsah served the district with dedication and commitment, and his passing will be deeply felt by all.

Mr. Dongi extended the assembly’s condolences to the bereaved family and promised their commitment to providing a befitting burial for the deceased.
