Fire Incident in Odomase Results in Tragic Loss of Infant Life

Odomase: Tragedy struck the Sunyani West Municipality as a devastating fire engulfed a compound house in Odomase, leading to the tragic death of a nine-month-old baby.

According to Ghana News Agency, the fire erupted around 0700 hours on Saturday, January 11, 2025, causing severe damage to personal properties valued at thousands of Ghana cedis. Victims recounted that the infant was asleep in one of the rooms when the blaze broke out. Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One (ADO1) Kwame Adomako, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, confirmed the infant's death and stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

ADO1 Adomako mentioned that the fire service was alerted by the media and arrived at the scene to find the fire had reached a perilous stage. Despite the challenges, the firefighters successfully managed to control the blaze. He also reported a similar fire incident occurring at Asuakwaa in the Sunyani Municipality on Sunday, January 12, 2025, around 1600 hours. This incident resulted in the destruction of numerous rooms, but fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
