Government committed to improving integration of people with disabilities into job market (Minister)

Minister of Social Affairs Malek Zahi stressed the government's commitment to strengthening the integration and employability of people with disabilities in both the public and private sectors. The minister was speaking at the opening of the first edition of the Employment Fair for People with Disabilities, held at the International Centre for the Promotion of Disabled Persons in Gammarth. He said that his ministry had decided to allocate 30% of the economic empowerment programme's expenses to people with disabilities to encourage them to start their own projects. Zahi stressed that people with disabilities will be given priority in employment, specifying that 2% of annual public sector recruitment will be reserved for people with disabilities. The minister announced that the reforms to be introduced in this sector will be based on the inclusion of people with disabilities as full citizens and partners in building the social state, the sole guarantor of rights and freedoms.
