Accra: The government, through multiple communications with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, as well as the National Development Planning Commission, has officially adopted the Global Infrastructure and Trade Finance Initiative Council’s (GITFiC) Agenda 2031. This agenda encompasses the Global Debt Initiative and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Implementation Support Initiatives.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued in Accra revealed plans for establishing a Technical Working Committee. This committee is set to be chaired by Mr. Selasi Koffi Ackom, CEO of GITFIC. The committee will consist of six members from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The statement further highlighted that the committee would promptly begin discussions on the 9th GITFiC of the 2nd Meeting on the Global Debt Initiative. Additionally, it will address the 1st Meeting on the AfCFTA Tertiary Students Congress in Africa, which is scheduled for October 2025.
