Tamale: The Northern Ghana Youth for Development (NGY4D), a coalition comprised of five regional youth networks, has proposed an annual initiative for President John Dramani Mahama, titled 'Time with the President'. This engagement aims to offer young individuals a platform to provide constructive feedback on the government's delivery of its manifesto promises, particularly those impacting the youth sector.
According to Ghana News Agency, the NGY4D emphasized that such interactions would enhance the inclusivity of youth in the governance process, thereby fostering the advancement of the country's democracy. A statement released by the group, signed by its Convenor, Mr. Mohammed Inusah, highlighted the importance of ensuring that young people are heard and provided with employment opportunities through initiatives like the 24-hour economy.
The statement, also sent to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale, extended congratulations to President Mahama on his re-election and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for her historic achievement as Ghana's first female Vice President. It remarked that their victory symbolizes a triumph for the youth, who are striving for decent employment in both formal and informal sectors.
