Accra: Ghana’s Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, is set to participate in the Africa Down Under (ADU) Summit in Australia, commencing on September 3, 2025. The summit is known for bringing together global experts and industry leaders in mining and extractives to highlight mining opportunities across Africa.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Minister will present Ghana as an ideal mining destination in Africa and the West African sub-region. His presentation will focus on Ghana’s favorable investment climate and its status as Africa’s leading gold producer. This engagement is designed to attract investor support to advance Ghana’s mining prospects, promote value addition, and expand the country’s mineral boundaries.

Madam Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia, the Ministry’s Director of Communications, confirmed the Minister’s itinerary in a statement. She noted that the three-day conference would also provide a platform for the Ministry to build connections with development partners on a global mining stage. The Minister’s delegation will include officials from the Ministry and representatives from the Minerals Commission.

The Africa Down Under (ADU) Summit is the largest event focused on African mining held outside the continent, drawing high-profile participants each year. The summit is a crucial platform for strengthening Africa-Australia relations, promoting business, social, and cultural ties between the two regions. Since its inaugural conference in 2003, ADU has highlighted numerous success stories of Australian companies and organizations operating across Africa. It also plays a central role in ‘Africa Week,’ a celebration of the robust and growing relations between Australia and the African continent.
