Agona abodom: A 10-day Peace Prayer International Convention organized by Mathapoly Church International (MCI), formerly known as Musama Church International, concluded at Agona Abodom in the Agona West Municipality of the Central Region. Reverend Francis Owusu, the Public Relations Officer of the Church, emphasized that the annual festival aims to unite members from Ghana and the diaspora to spread the gospel.
According to Ghana News Agency, the 2025 peace prayer convention, themed “Trusting the Lord with all your heart,” commenced on Friday, August 22. Participants from Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, the UK, Benin, and various African countries gathered for the event. Rev Owusu highlighted that last year’s convention focused on praying for peace before, during, and after the 2024 elections, urging the youth to avoid acts of violence that could lead to conflict.
He advised the youth to avoid actions with potentially disastrous outcomes and discouraged the pursuit of wealth through illicit means. Rev Owusu urge
d young people, as future leaders, to achieve a quality living through skills training and seek assistance to establish workshops, creating job opportunities to alleviate unemployment.
The PRO stated that the church would continue to pray for the nation to maintain its peaceful environment, noting the necessity of preventing frequent motor accidents and other disasters for the country’s economic and social prosperity.
Prophet Ewusi Duku X, Chairman of the Peace Prayer Convention, remarked on the convention’s 100-year milestone, emphasizing the importance of celebrating the power and authority of the Lord. Prophet Duku also warned the youth against exploiting technology, particularly AI, to deceive others.
