Accra: Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the Minority Leader in the eighth parliament, has commended the Minority Caucus for meeting the expectations of the Ghanaian people despite facing numerous challenges. He acknowledged the difficulties in preventing the executive from taking detrimental actions but emphasized the Caucus's commitment to doing what was right for the nation. Dr. Forson made these statements in a closing remark during the dissolution of the eighth parliament on Monday.
According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Forson, who is also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, highlighted the historic composition of the 8th Parliament, which saw an equal number of seats held by each major political party and a record number of female members. He expressed gratitude to the current Speaker for his exemplary leadership and paid tribute to past leaders, including former Majority and Minority Leaders.
Dr. Forson concluded by emphasizing the importance of hard work, dedication, and true love in earning the people's trust and support. He stated, "Mr Speaker, with the NDC poised to reenter the chamber with an unprecedented majority, the NDC look forward to the party's future endeavors." Dr. Forson therefore called for collaboration, criticizing government policies while offering alternative proposals.
