Nkrankwanta: Mr. Daniel Naanwinkoma, the Dormaa West District Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has announced that the organization is engaging with six border communities in the district to ascertain the movements of victims of the Gbinyiri clash who are fleeing their homes in the Savannah Region. The affected communities include Amoakokrom, Kokrogya, Frempongkrom, Nkrankwanta, Yawusukrom, and Adiemra, all of which lie along the Ghana-Cote D’Ivoire boundary lines in the district.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Naanwinkoma emphasized the importance of engaging with traditional authorities, opinion leaders, and Assembly Members in the area to establish the necessary interventions to assist the victims. He stated that there have been reports of some victims taking refuge in Techiman and Wenchi Municipalities, prompting the need for thorough checks in the border towns to verify the presence and condition of the victims and vulnerable individuals.

Mr. Naanwinkoma also mentioned that NADMO has yet to confirm if any victims have fled to neighboring Cote D’Ivoire, which is in proximity to the Dormaa West District, a region known for cocoa farming. He explained that once they confirm the presence of any victims in these communities, NADMO will compile the data and report its findings to the relevant authorities to facilitate the necessary interventions.
