NADMO Zonal Coordinator Appointed as Chief of Atwima Yabi

Kumasi: Mr. Joseph Osei Tutu, Zonal Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipality, has been installed as the new Otumfuo Sikakuahene Nifahene of Atwima Yabi, a community near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. In his new traditional role, he will be known as Nana Akwasi Osei Tutu. The installation ceremony saw him swear the customary oath of allegiance to the Otumfuo Sikakuahene of Atwima Yabi, Nana Fosu Anin II, and his elders, marking the completion of the required traditional rites.

According to Ghana News Agency, during the ceremony, Nana Akwasi Poku, the Gyasehene of the Otumfuo Sikakuahene, emphasized the need for the new chief to prioritize diligence, unity, and the development of the community. The Otumfuo Sikakuahene Gyasehenemaa, Nana Akua Konadu, also called on the residents of Atwima Yabi to support their new leader as he undertakes initiatives aimed at the town's development.

In his acceptance speech, Nana Akwasi Osei Tutu expressed gratitude to Nana Fosu Anin II and his elders for their confidence in him. He committed to working tirelessly to enhance the image of Atwima Yabi and to meet the duties assigned to him.

He further identified several critical challenges facing the community, including poor road infrastructure, youth unemployment, and inadequate educational facilities. Addressing these issues will be a primary focus during his tenure, as he aims to improve the living conditions in Atwima Yabi.
