Kumasi: The Ghana Prisons Service has launched the ‘Think Prisons 360 Degrees’ initiative in Kumasi to boost support and collaboration for prison reforms. The initiative aims to sensitise individuals, institutions, and organisations to identify partnership opportunities with the Service in advancing its mission.

According to Ghana News Agency, the launch was led by Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq), Director-General of Prisons, marking a key component of the strategic reforms introduced under the new Prisons Administration. The core pillars of the initiative include rebranding, digitalisation, agricultural mechanisation, industrialisation, wealth creation, and improved welfare for both officers and inmates, alongside targeted advocacy.

Mrs. Baffoe-Bonnie emphasized the importance of strong stakeholder engagement, making courtesy calls on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Ejuramanhene Barima Osei Hwedie II, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister, and other distinguished personalities during her regional tour. Other regional mini launches of the initiative are expected to follow in due course.
