Western Region: The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects between Bawdie and Wassa Akropong in the Western Region for unlawful possession of arms and ammunition. The individuals, identified as Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab, were detained on April 30, 2025, while traveling on a Grand Bird bus with registration number AS 4431-22 to Wassa Akropong.

According to Ghana News Agency, the police announced the arrest in a press release, stating that an SMG rifle and 21 rounds of ammunition were retrieved from Hakeem Imoro upon search. During questioning, Hakeem revealed that the firearm was given to him by his boss for safekeeping.

The three suspects are currently on remand and are assisting the police in their investigations as they await trial.
