Accra: Mr Yussif Issaka Jajah, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North Constituency, has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts. He takes over from Mr Mark Okraku-Mantey, who held the position during the second term of the President Akufo-Addo-led Administration.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Jajah, born on October 21, 1979, hails from Bole in the Savannah Region of Ghana. He holds an MBA in International Oil and Gas Management from the University of Dundee in Scotland, United Kingdom, obtained in 2011, and a BSc in Accounting from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), earned in 2009. He also holds an MPHil in Development Finance and an MSc in Energy Economics from GIMPA, along with a certificate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ghana.

The three-term member of parliament was a research fellow at the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation in Accra from 2013 to 2016, prior to entering politics. He also worked as a consultant in the oil and gas sector between 2011 and 2012, collaborating with MDPI and Goodwill International.

Mr Jajah will support Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister, in driving initiatives that promote Ghana's rich cultural heritage and creative industry. He is expected to leverage his extensive research and consultancy experience to shape policies that enhance Ghana's global cultural appeal within the tourism, hospitality, and creative arts sector.
