Accra: A coordinated security operation led by the Inspectors General of Police of Ghana and Nigeria has resulted in the rescue of kidnapped individuals who appeared in a widely circulated video pleading for help.

According to Ghana News Agency, the victims were safely rescued in Nigeria, as confirmed by police sources. The cross-border security operation involved support from various state security agencies and has led to the arrest of multiple suspects in both countries.

The arrested individuals are believed to be part of a transnational kidnapping ring. The viral footage, which showed the victims in distress while in captivity, had sparked widespread public concern and international condemnation.

Police sources have confirmed that the rescued individuals are now safe and are receiving medical evaluation and trauma support. Investigations are ongoing, and more arrests are anticipated as security agencies continue their efforts to dismantle the network responsible for the abductions.
