Gafsa Phosphate Company case: nine defendants face corruption accusations

Nine defendants will appear before the investigating judge at Gafsa Court of First Instance on suspicion of corruption in the Gafsa Phosphate Company (French: CPG) case, El Aouina National Guard district said. A former CEO of the CPG and a foreign sales representative are among the defendants, the spokesperson for the National Guard said. All suspects were taken into custody. They face accusations of corruption and waste of public funds. The case involves a public contract for the purchase of heavy machinery for the company in 2019 with a cost of 14 million dinars.
