Nkwanta: A vehicle belonging to the Kyabobo Game Park was attacked at Nkwanta in the Oti Region by unknown assailants, leaving the authorities stunned. An intel gathered by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicated that the attack occurred during the renewed ethnic conflict on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Manager of the Park attempted to rescue some of his staff but was ambushed by the assailants, who opened gunfire on the vehicle, causing extensive damage. Sources close to the GNA revealed that the Manager and one other staff sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to a health facility for medical attention. They were later discharged.
The attack on the vehicle has sent shockwaves through the community, with many condemning the act of violence. The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the incident and has assured the Management of the Wildlife Park of ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The Akyode, Adele, and Challa ethnic groups are claiming ownership of the Nkwanta township, leading to the age-long conflict.
