President Saïed and Education Minister discuss preparations for national exams

Tunis: President Kais Saïed focused on the preparations underway for the organisation of national exams and competitions as he met on Monday at the Carthage Palace Minister of Education Saloua Abassi. Saïed was quoted in a Presidency statement as stressing the need to take the necessary measures to combat attempts at cheating and warned that there would be no tolerance for cheaters or any other party using modern electronic means to invent new methods of cheating in examinations every year. The Head of State took the opportunity to reiterate the commitment to proceed with the full and systematic audit of scientific diplomas. This operation, carried out in several ministerial departments, public institutions and companies, had made it possible to identify thousands of falsified diplomas, he pointed out. This is in addition to «illegal recruitment on the basis of false diplomas, in total violation of the principle of equality between candidates.» The Head of State also called on the Minister of Education to find a definitive solution as soon as possible to the problem of substitute teachers, based on objective criteria, in order to safeguard the rights of both teachers and pupils. President Saïed stressed the need to work with the various parties concerned to put an end to the assaults on teachers, saying this profession has a sacred mission and that it is the duty of the entire national community to protect it and give it the protection it deserves.
