Situation of Tunisian employees in diplomatic missions discussed at Foreign Ministry

Tunis: A meeting was held at the Foreign Affairs Ministry to conclude the works of the task force assigned to sort out the situation of Tunisian staff working for foreign diplomatic and consular missions, offices of international and regional organizations as well as international cooperation agencies accredited in Tunisia. The meeting was moderated by Secretary General of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Hichem Bayoudh and attended by senior executives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Finance Ministry, the Social Affairs Ministry and representatives of the CNSS. It focused on the employees' salary tax declarations and their social security contributions to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) in a way that preserves their rights and supports the State's resources. «The Tunisian diplomacy is determined to enforce the law in this field and anchor the principle of reciprocity in coordination with the relevant bodies to consolidate the ressources of the State budget and ensure the rights of Tunisian nationals working for diplomatic missions and international organizations,» the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. During the meeting, participants stressed the need to foster close coordination between all stakeholders in order to ensure judicious follow-up of this file and achieve the expected results.
