“Tunisia is for all Tunisians and those who do not shoulder responsibility have no place in State,” President Saied

Tunis: "Tunisia is for all Tunisians from the far north to the far south," said President of the Republic Kais Saied during an unannounced visit, on Saturday evening, to the Nouil region, Douz municipality, Kebili governorate, and that "the south is a part of Tunisia that we cherish and must be developed and we will provide it with all the public facilities that exist elsewhere." The President of the Republic stressed, according to a video posted by the Presidency of the Republic, that the south of Tunisia must enjoy its share of development in all fields, especially as it is endowed with huge potential, just like Tunisia as a whole. He added: "I have pledged to God and to you that I will be at the service of the Tunisian people, and my visit today is not by chance, but to send a message to the people of the south, our people have the same right to Tunisia as other regions, and it is also necessary to centralise many projects for young people." Addressing the audience, Said said: "You know the value of the land and are committed to remaining in it and working to revive it, and we will work to provide the possibilities but also to hold those who bear responsibility at the regional and local level," insisting that "officials must be up to the size of the tasks entrusted to them and must move and identify the citizens' concerns and endeavour to find solutions to them." "We will keep working and we are firm, and the country must be cleaned up, and those who do not shoulder responsibility have no place in the State," he stated. President Kais Saied on Saturday evening made an unannounced visit to the Nouil region in the Douz commune, in Kebili governorate, where he met with a group of citizens and listened to their concerns and proposals, as well as the difficulties they are encountering, especially with regard to the launch of projects and the lack of response from the relevant authorities to their demands. The President of the Republic also shared the Iftar meal with a number of citizens at Bir Belgacem in Douz . He pointed out on the occasion, that the Tunisian desert boasts many resources and skills, and with a firm will and determination, many areas can be made green so that all of Tunisia from north to south becomes greener and every citizen in every inch of it enjoys his full and undiminished right. The President of the Republic's visit to the governorate of Kebili is not the first, as on November 12, 2023, he visited the regions of Rajem Maatoug and Mohadith in the governorate of Kebili, where he planted a bunch of trees on the occasion of the Tree Day.
