“Turnout in local elections has not exceeded 1.9% until 10 a.m.” (Mourakiboun)

The Mourakiboun network pointed out that the turnout in the local elections, which got underway on Sunday morning, had not exceeded 1. 9% up to 10 a.m.. Mourakiboun network steering committee member Souheib Riahi told TAP that 2% of polling stations had opened their doors with a slight delay not exceeding 9.30 a.m., signalling the absence of candidate representatives in 65% of polling stations. The Mourakiboun network deployed 930 observers across all regional authorities (27 authorities), he said, specifying that the network had adopted an observation approach based on a representative sample to cover 501 polling stations across all regions of the country. He said that 529 permanent observers would be in charge of polling station observation, sorting and counting, in addition to 301 mobile observers in delegations and 100 long-term observers who would coordinate with sectoral authorities. At the central level, the Mourakiboun network monitors the field work of its observers through a data collection and analysis centrer operated by 70 volunteers who had been trained in the use of the Mourakiboun network's specific computer system dedicated to the observation of the electoral process.
