Building sector: Tunisian-Italian training project presented in Bizerte

Bizerte: A working session was held, on Tuesday, at the headquarters of Bizerte governorate, to present the training project for some 100 people in the building sector and related activities. The project is co-funded by the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation and the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry. Chairing the meeting, Bizerte Governor Samir Abdellaoui said the project aims to boost the economic and development momentum and create permanent job opportunities for young entrepreneurs and job-seekers in the region. This project will be implemented in three governorates, namely Bizerte, with an estimated total cost of TND 6 million, said Hedi Khairat, a Tunisian trade unionist living in Italy. More particulalry, it will be launched in North Bizerte, Mateur and Sejnane delegates given the presence of training centres in the building sector in these towns. The programme includes training in the sector for a number of Tunisian trainers in Perugia (Italy), with a follow-up training of trainees in Tunisia, prior to the in-depth training phase in the building sector and related activities. Each candidate, willing to launch their project, will receive a financial grant of around TND 33,000 with support and technical briefing, as well as job opportunities in one of the Italian companies operating in the sector, he added.
