Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency took, Thursday, over the presidency of the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN), for a one-year term.
The Croatian news agency (HINA) handed over TAP this presidency, during the 31st session of the General Meeting of AMAN, held in Djerba.
In his remarks, CEO of TAP, Najeh Missaoui, expressed the news agency's commitment to develop the work of this alliance and create opportunities for partnership and cooperation between member agencies.
He pledged to maintain the principles and guidelines of AMAN throughout the term of presidency entrusted to TAP.
Missaoui said TAP will work during the coming year to consolidate cooperation between the Mediterranean news agencies, through the exchange of visits between the heads of these media and the adequacy of training programmes with the accelerated development of tools of agency journalism.
For her part, outgoing president of AMAN, Branka Gabriela Vojvodic, reviewed the achievements of AMAN during her term of office regarding the coordination between the members of this Mediterranean media alliance.
The 31st session of the General Meeting of AMAN began Wednesday with a conference on the empowerment of women in the Mediterranean space, hosted by TAP.
