Inflation eased to 8.3% in November from 8.6% in October, the National Institute of Statistics (French: INS) Tuesday said in a note on the consumer price index for November. This downward trend, notwithstanding the monthly increase, is the result of the deceleration in the pace of price rises between November and October compared to the same period last year. The annual pace of price increases slowed down from 13.1% to 11.9% in the foodstuff products group and from 8.8% to 8.1% in the furniture, household and maintenance equipment group. //11.9% year-on-year rise in food prices// In November 2023, food prices grew 11.9% year-on-year, driven by price hikes of coffee poweder (35%), edible oils (29%), sheepmeat (28%), beef meat (17.1%) and fresh fruits (14.1%).
